Charging & Maintenance Guidelines

Optimized Charging Protocols for Longevity

To maximize battery life and performance, Plante cells must follow a structured charging procedure. Temperature, current flow, and voltage levels are all critical to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Charging Instructions

Initial fill: Electrolyte Sp. Gr. 1.19±0.005 @ 20°C
Charge in 3 stages – Starting → Finishing → Equalizing
Stop charging if temperature exceeds 50°C; resume below 40°C
Equalizing charge: 2.75V/cell followed by taper charge at half finishing rate
Float voltages vary by temperature (see table in PDF)
